McCarty Anesthesiology, LLC is pleased to announce a dramatically improved approach in dental
sedation. This method provides deep sedation for dental cases requiring anesthesia, such as multiple fillings,
crowns, root canals, dental implants and other surgical procedures. Dr. McCarty greatly reduces the
anesthesia induction and recovery time and is more cost-effective and convenient for dentists, less invasive
for patients, and provides a safe, superior environment of care. Dental professionals also benefit from
more efficient caseload handling, reduced liability concerns and a renewed ability to focus on the dental
aspects of their procedures. McCarty Anesthesiology, LLC is of special interest to pediatric dental
practices where reduced time in the dental chair is of even greater significance to younger, often fearful,
patients.
Traditionally, dentists have had just a few anesthesia options: a combination of local anesthetics and
anti-anxiety agents such nitrous oxide; relying on the unpredictable effects of oral conscious sedation or
scheduling procedures requiring general anesthesia to be performed at hospitals or surgery centers. Due to
increasing out-of-pocket expenses for patients and decreased payor reimbursements, the expense of some
of these treatments is cost-prohibitive. While the major northeast dental liablity insurance carrier, Eastern
Dentists Insurance Company (EDIC), does not condone the use of oral conscious sedation, they have
endorsed the services of dentist anesthesiologists. A dentist's liability coverage does not change when
utilizing the services of Dr. McCarty. I feel this speaks volumes in regard to the increased safety of this
proposed model of anesthesia in comparison to the other techniques currently employed.
McCarty Anesthesiology, LLC currently provides office based sedation & general anesthesia throughout
